Jacob Leightley

Jacob Leightley is a Northumbrian instrumentalist/composer interested in exploring influences from Western improvised music through the lens of English and European folk & traditional repertoire. Beginning at age 18 with a 6 year jazz bass odyssey across 3 countries followed by a 6 year hiatus at the edge of Northumberland, we currently find him 3 years deep into a love affair with folk music. Picking up 75% of his instruments after the age of 30, he provides a unique take on both the Irish Bouzouki and the English Concertina. His current interests include the compositions/playing of Andy Cutting, and the cinematic works of David Lynch and Spike Lee. Additionally, he loathes writing about himself in the third person.
