Campsite arrangements
for 2023

Where: Saltburn Learning Campus
Marske Mill Lane, Saltburn-By-The-Sea TS12 1HJ
Arrival from 4pm Thursday 10th August.
Leave by 10 am Monday 14th August

We are using the grounds of Saltburn Learning Campus as our campsite this year. This is accessed by driving along the side of the Cricket Club car park (not through it) and turning left just before reaching the Leisure Centre. Please be aware that the Cricket Club recently installed a Parking Eye system. If you go into the Cricket Club’s car park, follow the instructions on the signs very closely, or you will receive a parking charge notice!

As you’d expect with a school site, dogs are not allowed (other than guide dogs and other recognised assistance dogs) and there is strict ban on smoking. If these restrictions make the Festival Campsite unsuitable for your needs, you may be interested to know that (a) there are facilities for overnight stays in the Council’s Cat Nab carpark down by the beach; and (b) There is free overnight parking on the Council land at Hob Hill for those who are self-sufficient; (c) some motorhome users take a chance on finding street parking in Saltburn – we don’t encourage this (and there may be restrictions in force this summer) but if you decide it’s what you want to do, please be considerate towards residents and other road users.

There is lots of space on the secondary school playing field for tents. Caravans and motorhomes will be accommodated in the large car park.  Vehicles must not be driven onto the playing field. There is a fenced hard surfaced court next to the field where campers can leave their cars. If there are groups with a mix of tents and vehicles who want to stay close together, we’ll do our best to find you a suitable spot somewhere on the school site, but can’t guarantee this.

A block of toilets inside Huntcliff School will be open 24/7 for campers to use, and depending on the number of bookings for the campsite, we may hire a couple of portaloos as well.

There’s free use of showers inside the school for a couple of hours each morning. Showers are also available in the nearby Leisure Centre during their opening hours, for a small fee.

There’ll be at least one freshwater tap near the field. There will be a designated drain for liquid waste disposal in the car park.

We are using Huntcliff School’s Main Hall as one of our venues for concerts. There will be a bar just outside the school atrium, open around concert times (and probably for a while before concerts too).

It’s a short walk from the campsite to a Spar Supermarket, and not much further to the nearest Fish and Chip Shop. Saltburn’s town centre pubs, cafes and restaurants, along with our other venues, are all within an easy 10-15 minute walk.

We don’t expect motorhomes or cars brought into the school grounds to be moved once parked up. Exceptions can be made for performers, craft fair stallholders etc who need to move equipment and for blue badge holders. If this applies to you, please tell stewards/security on arrival so your vehicle can be allocated a suitable spot.

There will be professional security on duty round the clock, controlling access to the camping areas. This is in addition to volunteer stewards who will be providing general assistance and information during the daytime and early evening.

Toilet and shower facilities will be cleaned daily by school staff, but we expect campers to leave everything clean and tidy. Please report any hygiene or safety issues (with toilets, showers or anything else on site) to the stewards without delay.

We are moving towards being a sustainable festival. We ask campers to take their rubbish and recycling home with them if at all possible, so please don’t bring lots of single use items!

Barbeques and Fires are NOT ALLOWED anywhere on site.

First aid, lost property and fire safety: arrangements to be made by school and stewards. More info provided on arrival

Public Transport: there are bus stops nearby, and Saltburn Railway Station is a ten minute walk
